BACKGROUND

Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) is a member or the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). KGGA is registered as an Act of Parliament under Cap.220 of the Laws of Kenya. It has been active for more than 85 years and is one of the oldest Youth Associations in Kenya. KGGA has a national membership of over 155,000 girls representing every race, ethnicity, culture, class and religion in Kenya and operates through a value-based programme. Girls and young women across the world are joined by common bonds of understanding, friendship, the Promise and Law and their aspirations to make the world a better place.

9. A Guide is careful and avoids wastefulness.

10 .A Guide is pure in thought, word and deed.

Brownie Law

A Brownie is truthful, obedient and cheerful.

Girl Guiding is a voluntary movement and is open to all girls and young women regardless of their religion,ethnic group or background.A girl guide accepts the promise and the Law based on spiritual values,personal development and commitment to helping others.

We develop:

  • appreciation of others
  • leadership skills
  • healthy lifestyles
  • international understanding
  • commitment and skills in service to other.

 

 To become a member you can join at any age:

Rainbows 3 – 6 years

Brownies 7 – 10 years

Girl Guides 11 – 14 years

Ranger guides 14 – 18 years

Young leaders 18 – 30 years

(Annual membership fee for the above branches is 50 /=)

Trefoil Guild from 36- over 80 years

(Annual Memebrship fee is 500/=)
