Young Leaders

Young Leaders Unit caters for girls aged 18 years and 35 years.

We are priviledged to have the resting place of our founders Lady and Lord Baden Powell. In Every Februray 22nd we hold a memorial mass at the All Saints Catherdral.
Throughout, we are all guided by our 10 GUIDES laws.

We meet every 3rd Saturday of the Month at the headquarters where we deliberate our issues. The unit is comprised of Insipring doctors, nurses, laywers, policy makers, administrators, editors, accountants, etc. Its important to note that most of our youth members are in colleges or are actively working and thus time becomes a constraint, but nevertheless, with the guidng spirit at heart, we still perfom with excellence all our activites.

We bring our talents together to a common pool so at to effecitively and efficiently make concrete decisions.

However, we are faced with challenges the major one being resources.

We have a VISION to see our Association grow with a membership of over 1,000,000 women from Kenya alone.

AND HOW DO WE ACHIEVE THIS ? is usually the big question.

  • Publicity – (the need to be heard and known) we need to co-sponsor with Companies, other non-govermental organizations and the media to spread the guides message across Kenya and the Wide world.
  • The youth have on them a task to fundraise towards these activites:(please note that some of the acitivites also invovle other organisations, but the input of the youth in required)
  • Peace festivals,
  • International Camps,
  • HIV / AIDS educational related activites,
  • Peace education,
  • Dinner dancers,
  • Production of journals,
  • Development and maintenace of full detailed website
  • Camping equipment Materials for the Kimalel Campsite in Baringo
  • Camping equipment for Camping at the headquarters
  • Refubishment of Teachers dormitory,
  • Construction of a common water tank in our headquarters to hold over 2000ltrs of water.
  • Donations to children wards in hospitals, home, eldrely homes etc.
  • Maintenance and continuity of the association.
  • Construction of a security fence round the headquarters
and finally a long term plan to build a Girl Guides hostel. – where all girl guides of the World can stay at minimal costs.
