After weeks of careful planning, the day finally arrived. The 25th of November, 2006, a bright and
sunny day it was. The day of the repositioning of the Kenya Girl Guides Association to the 21st Century. In attendance were, Girl Guides, Brownies, Rangers and lots of friends of the Kenya Girl Guides. The guest of honour was the First Lady Honourable Lucy Kibaki. There were several key guests including the Minister for Youth Affairs honourable Mohammed Kuti and honourable Njoki Ndungu of the sexual offences Bill who is also a member of the National Council amongst others.
The Kenya Girl Guides mounted an exhibition of their key projects including, the Kibera, Girls project, Hawkers Market and the Solar Cooking project amongst others It was a beautiful day packed with activities including speeches, song and dance, There were several launches on that day including “Friends of the Kenya Girl Guides”, “The Kenya Girl Guides Association Website, www.kgga.co.ke”, and to crown it all, the launch of the new look logo “Girls Worldwide say”
There was funfare, song and dance as the new look was unveiled. A beautiful cake with an icing design of the new logo was cut thereafter to signify the new look. This was also the day in which the First Lady H.E. Lucy Kibaki was invested as the Patron of the Association.
