November 25th 2006 was a new dawn for the Kenya Girl Guides. This was the day in which the First Lady, her Excellency Lucy Kibaki was invested as the Patron of the Kenya Girl Guides. This was in keeping with the tradition of most countries of having the First Lady as the Patron. She accepted the investiture and remarked that “it was in fact long overdue as the trend in other countries was that the First Lady was in very many cases always the Patron of the Member Association.” This was part of the colourful repositioning ceremony held to reflect the new worldwide image.
